Sunday School Mission
To assist the parishioners of St. Paul’s in fulfilling their baptismal vows, so that children will grow to be faithful followers of Christ, we:
- Treasure each child as a gift from God
- Inspire children with the story of God’s love
- Embrace questions
- Support families in the spiritual nurture of children
Faith Quest is our Sunday morning children’s program for ages 3-12. Our goals are to nurture children’s faith, build friendships, and provide them experiences our liturgical tradition, spiritual practices, Bible stories, and mission to promote social justice and environmental stewardship in the world. Faith Quest meets in St. Paul’s House (home of St. Paul’s School right next door to our church) from 10 a.m. until approximately 11a.m. when we join the congregation for the Eucharist. Contact our family ministry team for more information at family@stpaulsoakland.org.
St. Paul's School
St. Paul’s Episcopal School, an independent, coeducational multi-cultural K-8 school, was founded in 1975 by Rev. Canon David R. Forbes - who was the founding headmaster of San Francisco's Cathedral School for Boys - and Rev. Donald W. Seaton. Although the school is now a separate legal entity, ties between the church and school still exist. Both institutions share a common history as well as activity and office space in St. Paul’s church, the church parish hall, and the administrative building at the rear of St. Paul's church.
